FAQ
HOW DO YOU WORK OUT YOUR PRICING?
The time it takes to design, create patterns, develop patterns and ideas are not reflected in the final price because it would make my knits totally unrealistic to buy. But it is important to keep this in mind when considering a purchase. The time it takes to research, trial, test and sample can be weeks, sometimes months.
I believe my creativity, skill and products are worth every cent. The quality of handmade! The sustainability of locally sourced Merino Wool! Creating thoughtful patterns that utilise zero-waste design! Compostable and recyclable packaging! Made to last a lifetime! My crazy, wonderful, autistic brain that comes up with it all! These are the reasons why my knits are worth such a price. Fast fashion knits simply do not compare.
Price breakdown:
35% - Income tax, GST, and other VAT, etc.
15% - Bank transactions, transaction fees, Afterpay fees, Shopify fees, accountant, excess shipping charges, subscriptions, website, etc.
10% -20% = Material costs e.g. Merino Wool Yarn, tools, equipment, stationary, etc.
30% - 40% = What I pay myself for making each knit. Up to 10% my wage is used to make regular donations to a range of non-profit organisations. All photoshoots, outsourced marketing, advertising, etc comes out of my profit.
"ETHICALLY MADE IN CHINA" knits are produced in small batch quantities and ready to ship within 1 - 3 business days. These take 8 - 12 months to design, sample and produce. You might find similar machine made knits cheaper online (mass produced fast fashion) but that indicates someone is not being paid fairly in the supply chain or someone is being exploited. I do not price gouge as I could charge a-lot more for these items and I don't. I produce these as an ethical way to make my work more financially accessible to my customers.

DO YOU MAKE CUSTOM KNITWEAR?
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY KNIT?
Beware of clothes moths as they love to eat wool. I recommend using our natural, non-toxic wool mist spray.
Pilling is caused eventually by rubbing and friction from general wear, it’s a normal part of a knit’s life. To remove these easily, brush in one direction with a fabric comb.
If your knit has sagged/stretched, steam gently into shape (on wool setting).
Fold neatly and store loosely.
