FAQ

WHAT IS THE RETURN POLICY? 365 DAY GUARANTEE?

If there is a construction fault with your purchase, please contact me within 14 days of receiving your order to arrange an exchange or repair. Please feel free to contact me with any queries prior to purchasing to avoid confusion.

After this period, until the first anniversary of your order arriving, you can still contact me if any issues arise with your knitted garment with our 365 day quality guarantee. You can contact me at any time to discuss any issue you are having regarding your knit and I will help in anyway I can 🥰. The 365-day quality guarantee excludes all up-cycled knits as I did not make the original garment.

All products are handmade and carefully examined by Lillie before being shipped. Some imperfections may occur due to being hand crafted, please enjoy the individuality of your knit.

All postage fees, VAT, taxes, etc associated with undelivered items, returns, exchanges and change of address are the responsibility of/and are to be paid by the consumer/customer/i.e. you.

HOW DO YOU WORK OUT YOUR PRICING?

Every single knit is handmade by me (Lillie) and can take anywhere from 2 - 14 days to complete. This encompasses many hours of hard (often fiddly) work.

The time it takes to design, create patterns, develop patterns and ideas are not reflected in the final price because it would make my knits totally unrealistic to buy. But it is important to keep this in mind when considering a purchase. The time it takes to research, trial, test and sample can be weeks, sometimes months.

I believe my creativity, skill and products are worth every cent. The quality of handmade! The sustainability of locally sourced Merino Wool! Creating thoughtful patterns that utilise zero-waste design! Compostable and recyclable packaging! Made to last a lifetime! My crazy, wonderful, Autistic brain that comes up with it all! These are the reasons why my knits are worth such a price. Fast fashion knits simply do not compare.

Price breakdown:

30% - 40% = What I pay myself for making each knit i.e. my hard earned profit (YAY!). 1% - 10% of this profit is also used to make regular donations to a range of non-profit organisations.

IS EVERYTHING REALLY HANDMADE?

Chunky Boy is 100% Handmade!

All knitwear is handmade by me (Lillie) with traditional knitting needles and my Brother KH260 and seamed by hand. The benefits of using both knitting tools are; I can pay myself a living wage without causing major injury and I can keep knit production times below 2 weeks.

The majority of my work is a traditional knitting technique called intarsia. Intarsia allows you to create patterns with multiple colours, essentially creating a picture with the yarn.

My new work is more experimental and uses non-toxic wool dye to paint directly onto an already knitted garment (knitted by me). This allows for more freedom and creativity in my work.

DO YOU MAKE CUSTOM KNITWEAR?

I absolutely love making custom knitwear. Send me a message and let's get those ideas flowing.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY KNIT?

Use an all-natural wool wash - gently hand wash in cool water, dry flat out of direct sunlight.

Beware of clothes moths as they love to eat wool. I recommend using our natural, non-toxic wool mist spray.

Pilling is caused eventually by rubbing and friction from general wear, it’s a normal part of a knit’s life. To remove these easily, brush in one direction with a fabric comb.

If your knit has sagged/stretched, steam gently into shape (on wool setting).

Fold neatly and store loosely. Larger knits like Jumpers and Cardigans come with a storage box and a handmade cedar potpourri sachet.
